If there were any logical connection between the list of notes contained in a fragrance and its actual smell, I should hate everything about this one: patchouli, chocolate, vanilla, cotton-candy.

All the ominous signs of a so-called gourmand. But here's the thing. The just right mixture of naturals and, amazingly, no synthetics, though pressed into service for a very modern idea, harks back to the golden age of perfumery.

If Angel had been composed "on original instruments", it would smell something like this.
